tell everyone who has a job to suck it

July 24, 2009

Here’s a different idea that uses the current state of the economy to promote a product: Unemploymints.

Katie Wilkes thought of creating the play-on-words product when she realized it didn’t already exist. From there she created the Unemploymints Web site and began selling mints in a small tin case, which states “Tell everyone who has a job to suck it.” You can purchase one tin of mints for $2.50.

While the mints are a novel idea, the Unemploymints site itself provides a lot of useful information to those who might be looking for a job, including a blog, forum and unemployee of the month section.

The Unemploymints Web site notes that Wilkes is a 23-year-old unemployed graduate of Lehigh University who enjoys bargain hunting, happy hour and sending monthly checks to Sallie Mae. She currently interns at an advertising agency in Portland, Oregon.
