A managers style is dependent on his views, beliefs and assumptions about employees or workers in general. Douglas McGregor proposed these assumptions could fall under two theories; theory ‘x’ and theory ‘y’.

I have uploaded a questionnaire at ePOD:Enabling Person and Organization Development: Are you a theory ‘x’ manager or a theory ‘y’ manager? that lets people check which of these theories do they predominanly believe in.

There are 14 statements and you have to select ‘yes’ or ‘no’ based on whether you agree with the statement or not. The results depend on your honest response to the questions.
